Porsche Classic

Race Reports - Porsche Club Championship

Here are the race reports for the Porsche Club Championship.

The Porsche Classic is no more, having been swept along with other changes in Porsche racing many of the newer cars are now eligible including 944S2 3.2 carrera and 968 models but still not the 964 or 944 turbo models.

The changes and renaming of the series in 2004 mean that most of the models have dropped down a class and so the 924GT is a class 2 car for the 2005 season. You can read my race reports as they become available by clicking on the links below.

NSSCC Northern Sportscar and Saloon Championship

Race Reports - Northern Sports and Saloon Car Championship

The NSSCC is a race series based around the Croft circuit in North Yorkshire. The series, which is open to pretty much any type of car attracts good fields of competitors. Technical regulations are few and it gives a good chance to compete against cars of very different characteristics.

In 2000 I won Class D, and was awarded the John Blades Trophy for my exploits during the 2001 season. For 2004 I had a new car for this championship, a Porsche 944 Turbo.Read more about the car on the 951 page.

Porsche Open Welsh racing Drivers Association

Race Reports - Porsche Open & Welsh Sports & Saloon Car Championship

The Porsche Open is a series orgainised by the Porsche Club GB, and is "open", hence its name, to Porsche of any type or description without technical restriction. It therefore is the place to see the more exotic and modified Porsche eg 935 and supercharged 964s etc. Where rounds of the Open and Classic coincide, I often take part, just for fun. There are 4 classes, based on simple power to weight ratios, which also reflect the degree of modification from standard.

Following the decision to make the Porsche Cup a single class championship, the Porsche Open is the now the only place for the other Cup cars, eg 964, 944 Turbo, 993 to race within the Porsche Club.

The Welsh Sports & Saloon Car Championship is organised by the Welsh Racing Drivers Association and caters for a multitude of different types of car including saloon cars, sports racing cars, motorcycle engines cars and even has a special class for rally cars.
